There are two netclass name methods, which previously were not
obvious in their uses. These have been renamed to now have:
GetName() : Used for internal or tooling (e.g. netlist export) usage
GetHumanReadableName() : Used for display to users (e.g. in infobars)
Fixing the previous unclear naming will result in fewer bugs
when users start using the multiple netclass functionality, as
the incorrect usage had started creeping in to new code. Also this
will help authors of new code select the correct name method.
Recommendation is to avoid using the year nomenclature as this
information is already encoded in the git repo. Avoids needing to
repeatly update.
Also updates AUTHORS.txt from current repo with contributor names
C++20 added new reverse and rewritten candidates. This can confuse the compiler because it'll test both A==B and B==A for overloads.
Because we were defining parent class equality overloads, A==B and B==A was considered ambigious due to both being compatible in casting.
So we needed to add explicit child class equality operator overloads
Prior to this change, the schematic connectivity was updated any time a
change was made to a connectable object. Now the connectivity is only
updated when an object change actually affects the connectivity. Other
properties like line width, fill type, custom fonts, etc. will not cause
the connectivity graph to be rebuilt.
The SCH_COMMIT flag SKIP_CONNECTIVITY has been removed. All schematic
objects can test if they are connectable and if there have been changes
to any connection properties that require a connectivity rebuild.
Remove duplicate rebuild connectivity calls from editor control tool.
This was causing the tangling end test to get called four times on every
undo and redo action because the dangling end test is already called in
the connectivity graph calculation code.
Update connectivity when changing label names which fixes an unreported
connectivity bug.
This is required to keep selected and brightened state across undo.
It's also probably required for things like IS_SHOWN_AS_BITMAP and
possibly ENTERED. FWIW, most BOARD_ITEMs do a straight swap, including
the temp and edit flags. But that seems like a risky change....
Also removes SyncView() call from Undo/Redo as that does a MODEL_RELOAD
which clears the selection.
ADDED Junction Size and Color to Edit Text & Graphics properties.
The added feature is only because it's the only way to recover from
the buggy behaviour having changed all your junctions to overridden
values.
Also adds help texts to the Junction Dot Properties dialog to
specify how to get schematic dot sizes and eeschema colors.
Also fixes the terminology in the Line/Wire/Bus Properties dialog
(the default widths come from the netclasses, not from eeschema).

Bitmaps are now identified by an enum class instead of by pointers.
Bitmap loading and caching is now handled by a class in common, and
we no longer compile most bitmaps into the binary, so there is no
longer a bitmaps static library.
Instead, bitmaps are archived to a .tar.gz file which is installed
in ${KICAD_DATA}/resources/images.tar.gz
The source PNGs are checked in to Git as the original CPP files were,
so that people can build without the required dependencies to convert
SVGs to PNGs.
Initial support is also added for dark theme icons, although this
is not yet exposed in the GUI.
Stubs are present for multi-resolution image resources, but this is
not fully-baked yet and could use some refinement.
CHANGED: In Schematic Setup->General->Formatting->Connections, added
pulldown for "Junction dot size" with values none, smallest, small
default, large, largest" Added support in "sch_painter.cpp" to not
paint junction when they have a diameter of "1" which is what "none"
sets as the diameter.
